Project: The Old Stables

Located just outside of Scruton near Northallerton is The Old Stables, which is a Grade II listed property.

The brief was to extend the family home to incorporate a new kitchen and family area which links to the garden.



In response to the context it was agreed that a new extension should not compete with the existing brick structure and have its own identity. The result being a contemporary proposal, which is very simple in form and scale and with a deliberate ‘gap’ between the existing and new.
